Out with the Old: Thriving in the New Creative Age

Out with the Old: Thriving in the New Creative Age

Show up, punch in, spend hours folding boxes, then crash into bed before doing it all over again the next day.

This was my reality for what seemed like a forever nightmare, with no life, no freedom, just mind-numbing work. Unable to work on any of my projects, having to sacrifice sleep just to create.

Most people wake up to this nightmare, stuck in endless bills and chores.

Every day, you force yourself to go to a job you hate, leaving no time or energy for anything else. You desperately want to express yourself through art and creativity, but it feels impossible amidst all the stress.

But what if things could be different? What if you could escape this cycle and make money doing what you love?

If you're willing, I'd like to help you make that happen.

How This Came To Be:

Ever since the industrial age, creative work has taken a backseat.

You see, big corporations realized the best way to make a lot of money was to mass-produce everyday products for everyday people.

This made it hard for small creators to succeed. They made lots of stuff quickly, and it took a lot of work for unique creators to compete.

Architects are a prime example. Artists who used to make beautiful, one-of-a-kind buildings are now being replaced with modern houses that all look the same.

Average products for average people.

From that point on, getting your work out there meant following a rigid set of rules – spending years honing your craft, networking like your life depended on it, and praying that some big-shot gatekeeper would take notice and send you to the creator big leagues.

But here's the thing – that old playbook is no longer relevant!

Why? Because we're living in a whole new world, my friends. Thanks to the internet!

The Game Has Changed:

Most creators don't realize that the internet isn't just a tool for sharing your work – it's a tool for building creative freedom, the freedom to create on your terms, for the audience you want, and in the way you want.

You must realize that the internet has made it possible for every creator on the planet to find people who will love their work.

For the first time in history, you have the power to connect with people from all corners of the globe without even leaving your bedroom.

No longer do you need permission anymore. With social media, everyone can have attention and influence, and with that, you can build a brand that shows who you are and find fans who love what you do.

Most Creators Get It Wrong:

Most creators are so focused on getting eyeballs on their work that they forget to ask themselves a crucial question: why should anyone care?

See, as creators, we like to think that our work is inherently valuable – that people should just be lining up to throw money at us.

But here's the reality check: value isn't inherent. It's something that's perceived. And perception is everything.

Most creators think that they can reach their goals just by sharing their work and nothing else, but they are wrong. You must do it with intention, like an entrepreneur building a business.

Think about it: when an entrepreneur launches a new venture, they don't just sit back and wait for customers to come to them.

No way. They go out and find their people. They do their research, they identify their target audience, and they figure out exactly what makes them tick.

Then, armed with that knowledge, they set out to solve their problems and meet their needs.

The Challenge:

Instead of just throwing your work out into the world and hoping for the best, you need to approach it with a clear sense of purpose.

You need to know exactly who you're trying to reach and why they should care about what you have to offer.

To do this, you need to learn more than just one skill:

  • Marketing = How to build an audience on social media.
  • Copywriting = How to get people interested in your work.
  • Networking = How to build connections for opportunity.

And more.

But the best part is you don't have to do it alone and it is not as difficult as it seems.

So here's my challenge to you, my fellow creators: stop running around like a chicken with its head cut off, desperately trying to get attention.

The old way doesn’t work anymore. Get out there and start building your tribe. Your future self will thank you for it.
